History

Puja.net was established following a trip to India in 1997. After enjoying several weeks of traditional Hindu yagya ceremonies, I returned and found that a significant number of people in America were interested in access to effective and affordable yagyas.

We began offering yagyas on a monthly basis, sharing the costs among the sponsors and performing the yagyas at the beautiful Venkateshwara temple in Malibu, California.

As the group expanded, we began to offer a wider variety of yagyas and use additional specialized priests for larger and more frequent yagyas.

In conjunction with Sri Seetharama Sastry, we were fortunate enough to build a modest facility in Kanchipuram, an ancient temple town south of Chennai, Tamil Nadu.

With the new facility and Seetharam's on-site presence, we currently offer yagyas every day of the month in Kanchipuram and in two additional facilities in Pune and Varanasi. Each has its own staff of highly trained priests and pundits.

Over the years, the group has expanded to include participants from around the world; the US, Europe, Scandinavia, South America, Africa, Australia and New Zealand. The group continues to grow on the basis of the consistent results that the yagya performances bring and the reliable and professional manner in which our yagyas are performed.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to make Vedic Astrology and remedial measures (graha shanti) such as pujas and yagyas available in a way that is as close to the timeless traditions of the Vedas as is possible.  Our goal is to help preserve the authentic Vedic traditions in the most effective way psossible; by using them.

With that in mind, our mission standards are:

1.  Pujas and yagyas will be performed in the most traditional and authentic manner possible, without considering cost or time requirements.

2.  All services will be priced so that they are within the financial reach of any individuals who wish to participate.  The price of the yagya service should bear a direct correlation to the cost of performing the yagya.

3.  Service, not profit, is the driving motive behind puja.net.

4.  Our sponsorship of yagyas is intended not only to result in positive benefits for ourselves.  Through our participation, we honor and preserve the Vedic traditions in India and provide meaningful employment for highly qualified priests.
