The first 70+ degree day
Tuesday, June 7, 2011 at 8:08PM Saturday was the first day with a high temperature over 70 degrees in 230 days in Bellingham! For someone who spent 20 years in LA, that's a lot of cold weather.
On a nice day here people are outside. Stores are empty and the hiking trails are full. I took Penny for a nice long walk on the Lake Whatcom trail across the lake from where I live. It follows an old railroad track and you can cover almost 7 miles out and back. We only did about 4 miles because it was getting hot (I know...72 is hot?) and I was getting hungry.
All the greeenery is out in full strength. Very nice for some macro shots.
